Project Overview

Challenge

Ostravice is a gateway village for the Beskydy mountains, drawing hikers, cyclists, and winter visitors throughout the year. During busy weekends the two main car parks – at the railway station and the Ostravice I lot – fill quickly, leaving arriving visitors without reliable information on availability.

Solution

Parkinto AI cameras were deployed at both car parks in Ostravice as part of ANTHONYapp’s regional smart parking rollout across the Beskydy tourist area. The system provides real-time occupancy counts that are fed directly to Mapy.cz, allowing visitors to check availability before they turn off the main road. The camera-based approach requires no ground sensors, keeping installation simple and maintenance-free even in harsh mountain winter conditions.

Results

Live occupancy data is publicly available on Mapy.cz for both Ostravice car parks, improving visitor flow and reducing unnecessary driving through the village. The system forms part of a broader Beskydy-wide intelligent parking network covering villages from Ostravice to Bílá and Krásná.
