Project Overview

Challenge

The mountain village of Krásná in the Beskydy highlands has a single road in and out. During peak tourist season – when hikers head to Lysá hora (the highest peak in Moravia) – the area’s car parks fill rapidly and drivers have no information on where spaces remain, causing traffic collapses and illegal parking throughout the village. The Rekreant lot, closest to the village centre, is typically the first to reach capacity.

Solution

ANTHONYapp, a Parkinto integration partner, installed an AI camera at Rekreant as part of a broader smart parking rollout across Osada Krásná. The Parkinto system detects vehicle presence in real time even in lots without marked bays, and live occupancy data is published to Mapy.cz – the most widely used Czech mapping platform – so drivers can check availability before arriving. Data is also accessible via the E-parkovani.cz dashboard, giving the municipality historical occupancy trends by day and hour.

Results

With Rekreant now monitored alongside the other Krásná lots, the municipality has complete real-time visibility across its main tourist parking areas. The occupancy data is informing plans for a future paid parking scheme and enables dynamic capacity adjustments during winter months when snow reduces available spaces.

Client Quote

“We had been struggling with parking problems and illegal parking for a long time. Our village is a popular starting point for hikes to Lysá hora and traffic collapses during peak periods were a real issue. ANTHONYapp’s team prepared a feasibility study, then installed cameras and integrated with E-parkovani.cz. We now have a live overview of all car parks and data that will help us design a future parking fee system. I appreciated their professionalism, responsiveness, and speed of delivery.”
— Mgr. Antonín Tulach, Mayor of Krásná
